Description

You will manage and upgrade SQL Server environments within a complex, on-premises VM-based infrastructure.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Lead the upgrade of SQL Server 2017 to 2022 in a virtualized environment.
• Maintain and troubleshoot Always On Availability Groups and Windows Server Failover Clustering (WSFC).
• Collaborate with infrastructure teams on VM configuration, storage, and networking.
• Support production and disaster recovery environments, performing performance tuning and capacity planning.
• Create detailed documentation and provide directional guidance to DBA contractors.

Required Skills

• 7+ years of SQL Server DBA experience in enterprise environments.
• 3 years proven experience upgrading SQL Server 2017 to 2022 on virtualized infrastructure.
• 5 years experience maintaining and setting up High Availability and Clustering.
• 7 years proficiency writing T-SQL and PowerShell scripts.
• 2 years experience with Windows Server 2022.
• 7 years experience with SQL Server components such as SSRS, SSIS, and Analysis Services.
• 5 years Microsoft DBA Certification.
• 2 years Hyper-V or VMware virtualization knowledge.

Preferred Skills

• 4 years experience with Hybrid disaster recovery strategies.
• 5 years Active Directory knowledge regarding Cluster Name Objects (CNO) in HA setups.
