Description

You will own the integrity, availability, and performance of on-premises and cloud SQL Server environments.

Responsibilities

• Build and manage on-prem VMs and Azure cloud implementations with high availability.
• Execute version upgrades, patching, and maintenance routines for Tier 1 and Tier 2 systems.
• Automate database operations and provide technical consulting for application support requirements.
• Mentor team members and collaborate with project teams on new database builds.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of experience in Database Administration or Engineering.
• 5+ years with SQL Server HADR technologies, including Always On, Replication, and Clustering.
• 2+ years setting up SQL Server VMs in Azure with resiliency and high availability.
• Advanced performance tuning, query analysis, and buffer tuning.
• Expertise in physical/logical backups, restores, and data refreshes.
• Proficiency with SQL Server Linking, SSIS, SSRS, and SSAS.
• Scripting experience with Windows PowerShell, Python, or Linux/Unix shell commands.
• Knowledge of OS fine-tuning for Network I/O and Disk performance.
• Experience managing database security and data compliance.

Preferred Skills

• Automation experience using Ansible or Terraform.
• CI/CD deployment experience with GitHub Actions, GitHub, or Jenkins.
