Description

You will lead the architecture and implementation of core networking and observability systems for MongoDB Server.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture and implementation of low-level networking components to improve server performance, scalability, and resilience.
• Design and implement observability improvements to help diagnose production issues for engineers and customers.
• Handle networking escalations from Technical Support and coach teammates on resolution.
• Own all code for the Networking & Observability Team, ensuring high standards for quality, security, and maintainability.
• Develop and maintain expertise on industry and academic developments in database, networking, and observability.

Required Skills

• 12+ years of experience programming, debugging, and performance tuning distributed C/C++ software systems.
• Strong systems fundamentals, including multi-threaded programming, performance profiling, and expert-level network programming.
• Expertise in C++, Javascript, and Python for writing, improving, and testing production code.
• Familiarity with database internals or building core components for data processing systems.
• Familiarity with the observability ecosystem and best practices.
• Experience with MongoDB.
• Excellent verbal and written technical communication skills.
• Ability to make realistic assessments of project cost and complexity.
