Description

Lead technical direction for major product areas of the Database Service.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Drive the design for scalable, modular, and extensible components.
• Define the future technical vision for the product.
• Develop solutions for customer requirements based on deep understanding of use cases.
• Collaborate with tech leads, product management, and UX teams to deliver high-quality features.
• Coach and mentor Staff Engineers to support their professional growth.

Required Skills

• 15+ years of experience developing highly scalable and available software.
• Experience building on hybrid multi-cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.
• Proficiency in one or more languages: Java, Go, or Python.
• Experience developing storage, networking, or virtualization products.
• Familiarity with containers and Kubernetes.
• Experience with databases such as SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, or MongoDB.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.

Preferred Skills

• Advanced degree in Computer Science.
• Direct experience working with Postgres.
