Job Overview

Join our client's Cloud Infrastructure Compute team as a Senior Staff Engineer, where you'll serve as the technical leader for lifecycle management of a large-scale Kubernetes compute platform. This platform is the foundation for security, networking, developer experience, and efficiency across the organization, ensuring consistency across multiple cloud vendors. You'll drive reliability, scalability, and developer experience for infrastructure and product teams alike.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership on high-impact, cross-team infrastructure projects
• Influence, mentor, and coach a distributed team of engineers
• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain the Kubernetes compute platform
• Deliver enhancements that improve cloud platform cost efficiency
• Facilitate alignment across teams on goals, outcomes, and timelines
• Manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables
• Contribute to the multi-year strategy for evolving the cloud platform

Required Skills

• 12+ years of infrastructure engineering experience
• Advanced Kubernetes expertise — including writing Kubernetes controllers (MUST)
• Hands-on experience building and working with admission webhooks
• Proficiency in Go (Golang) — MUST
• 4+ years with a public cloud provider (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and IaaS offerings (e.g. EC2)
• Experience setting technical direction and executing large, multi-team projects

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Istio and/or Envoy service mesh
• Background at cloud-native or DevOps-focused companies (e.g. Datadog, Cloudflare, CoreWeave, DigitalOcean, Elastic, Dynatrace)
