Description

You will own the administration, performance tuning, and lifecycle management of enterprise storage infrastructure, with a primary focus on Hitachi VSP systems.

This role is hybrid.

Responsibilities

• Administer SAN technologies including Fibre Channel, zoning, LUN masking, multipathing, ISLs, VSANs, and NPIV.
• Execute firmware upgrades, patching, health checks, and incident management following ITIL-based change processes.
• Perform capacity planning, utilization trending, and performance analysis to drive remediation efforts.
• Support heterogeneous host environments including Linux, Windows, VMware/vSphere, and enterprise applications.
• Conduct storage migrations, technology refresh programs, and datacenter consolidation projects.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of hands-on experience with enterprise storage, specifically Hitachi VSP series.
• Deep knowledge of Hitachi replication technologies: ShadowImage, Thin Image, TrueCopy, and Universal Replicator.
• Proficiency with Hitachi operational tooling such as Ops Center Administrator, Analyzer, Storage Navigator, or Device Manager.
• Experience with Dell EMC, NetApp, IBM, or HPE storage arrays in mixed enterprise environments.
• Scripting and automation skills in Python, C++, Shell, or Perl for reporting and health checks.
• Strong troubleshooting capabilities across storage, SAN, host connectivity, and replication failure scenarios.
• Knowledge of storage security practices including RBAC, encryption, and zoning standards.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with backup and recovery products such as Commvault, Veritas, or Veeam.
• Familiarity with NAS protocols (NFS/SMB/CIFS) and cloud-adjacent storage integration patterns.
