Description

You will lead structural analysis and design for heavy and highway civil construction projects.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design for reinforced/pre-stressed concrete, steel, timber, deep foundations, gravity-based foundations, and earth retaining structures.
• Develop crane pick plans, rigging plans, and bridge deck designs.
• Ensure all designs conform to applicable codes, standards, and client requirements.
• Prepare and review engineering calculations, reports, memoranda, and design submittals.
• Create working construction drawings for AutoCAD drafters.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of relevant structural engineering experience.
• Bridge design experience is required.
• PE license (NY or NJ) required; NY preferred.
• Proficiency in structural finite element analysis software such as MIDAS or RISA.
• Working knowledge of Excel and Mathcad.
• Application of industry codes including IBC, ASCE 7, ACI 318, AISC Steel Specification, NDS, AREMA, AASHTO, and AWS.
• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a similar field from an accredited institution.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Membership in industry organizations such as AISC, AWI, or RCSC.

Preferred Skills

• Master’s degree focused on structural engineering.
• Experience working on projects in the NYC/Metropolitan area.
