Description

You will operate as a Senior Sybase Database Technology Consultant, owning database administration, development, and system integration.

Responsibilities

• Perform database and system administrative tasks including installations, upgrades, backups, and troubleshooting software and hardware issues.
• Develop and implement software using object-oriented programming to create RESTful services supporting UI and middle tiers, including SQL/NoSQL persistence.
• Translate and decompose complex system requirements into detailed designs for a web-based architecture.
• Analyze and integrate new technologies into the existing framework, working independently or within an Agile team.

Required Skills

• 6+ years of Sybase development experience with a strong command of SQL.
• Proficiency in SQL database development skills for Sybase ASE, IQ, SAP HANA, MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, etc.
• Ability to create, review, and enhance SAP/Sybase and other database SQL/Procedure scripts.
• Expertise in database analysis, design, performance tuning, query analysis, and optimization.
• Experience maintaining multi-user computer systems and coordinating with network engineers.
• Knowledge of web development using JavaScript or JSON.
• Demonstrated experience developing within an Agile environment.
• Strong UNIX Shell scripting knowledge and experience with Linux distributions.

Preferred Skills

• Prior experience with enterprise software or cloud applications (SAP, Oracle, AWS, Google Big Data) or ETL tools (Informatica, SAP Data Services).
• Familiarity with CI/CD, code repositories (Git, Subversion), and delivery mechanisms (Maven, Ant).
