Description

You will design and implement microcontroller firmware for GPU server platforms using ARM M-class microcontrollers.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

  • Develop C/C++ server manageability features within RTOS embedded-optimized environments.
  • Execute firmware bring-up, debugging, performance analysis, and code instrumentation for maximum coverage.
  • Implement register-based communication and DMTF standard messaging protocols between BMC, GPUs, switches, and sensors.
  • Design a portable microcontroller framework for diverse server management subsystems.
  • Collaborate with security and hardware teams to align code with security goals and influence architecture reviews.

Required Skills

  • 5+ years of low-level microcontroller firmware development experience using Zephyr or FreeRTOS.
  • Proficiency in C/C++, Bash, Python, and Go.
  • Hands-on experience with BMC or microcontroller firmware for managing CPU, GPU, Network, or Storage devices.
  • Expertise in server manageability protocols including MCTP, PLDM, SPDM, SMBUS, and OCP recovery.
  • Deep understanding of interrupt schemes, multi-threading, DMA, and memory management in resource-restricted environments.
  • Experience with embedded interfaces such as USB and I3C.
  • Ability to use ARM IDEs, debuggers, logic/protocol analyzers, and oscilloscopes.
  • Competency in reviewing hardware schematics, reference manuals, and datasheets.
  • Solid understanding of Linux fundamentals, distributions, and image deployment.

Preferred Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
