Description

Own the design, build, and maintenance of the Apigee API Gateway infrastructure for high-traffic environments.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement API platform solutions to support future transaction growth.
• Manage capacity planning and scaling for the Apigee platform.
• Troubleshoot production issues and conduct root cause analysis.
• Configure high availability, load balancing, and failover settings.
• Implement security controls including OAuth 2.0, TLS, certificates, and throttling.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of systems engineering experience.
• 2+ years supporting Apigee specifically.
• Strong Linux administration and UNIX shell scripting.
• Proficiency with Docker and Kubernetes for containerized applications.
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins and GitHub.
• Deep understanding of networking: TCP/IP, switching, routing, firewalls, and load balancing.
• Knowledge of REST APIs, JSON, and API testing tools like Postman or SoapUI.
• Familiarity with monitoring platforms like Datadog, Dynatrace, or Nagios.

Preferred Skills

• Experience integrating Apigee with enterprise systems via SAML/LDAP SSO and Management APIs.
