Description

You will lead the Core Platform team to design and operate reliable, resilient platforms and frameworks that enable rapid product development across multiple teams.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and evolve core platform building blocks and frameworks, focusing on developer productivity, reliability, scalability, performance, and security.
• Architect and build core platforms, including content ingestion, crawler framework, permissions enforcement, identity, and content retrieval platforms.
• Define methodologies and metrics to measure core service performance, identifying and resolving bottlenecks.
• Partner with ML, search, product, data, and full-stack teams to define and build elegant solutions for their platform needs.
• Hire, mentor engineers, and foster a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.

Required Skills

• 7+ years of hands-on experience designing, building, shipping, and maintaining highly scalable, fault-tolerant backend distributed systems.
• 3+ years of experience growing and managing a team of 5+ engineers, including senior engineers.
• Familiarity with Python, Golang, Java, or C++.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure, specifically AWS or GCP.
• Experience operating technologies like Kafka, OpenSearch, Redis, Postgres, or Temporal at scale.
• Proven ability to solve problems related to performance, optimization, scalability, latency, and monitoring.
• Strong ability to translate complex product needs into clear platform abstractions for various organizational levels.
