Description

You will design, install, and tune Apache Tomcat in complex, clustered production environments on Linux infrastructure.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Manage large-scale Apache Tomcat installations, including upgrades, patching, and configuration management.
• Optimize JVM performance, thread pools, and connector settings to maintain service levels.
• Analyze production service level issues to identify and resolve root causes.
• Conduct vulnerability management and implement hardened configurations for Tomcat.
• Integrate Tomcat with load balancers and web servers like NGINX or Apache HTTP.

Required Skills

• 6+ years of experience in middleware platforms specializing in Tomcat build and support.
• Proficiency with Tomcat, NGINX, Apache HTTP, and Db2.
• Understanding of deploying Tomcat applications in Red Hat OpenShift container platform.
• Experience creating DNS URLs and submitting Load Balancer requests.
• Proficiency with Chef JSON file structure.
• Knowledge of Autosys jobs for weekly and monthly server reboots.
• Experience with DB2 Y8 Cert creations.
• Flexibility for rotational night shift coverage.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Linux infrastructure in complex, clustered environments.
