You will manage server lifecycle activities and maintain data center hardware stability.
Responsibilities
- Plan server or rack layouts, oversee mounting, and manage operating system installations.
- Perform daily maintenance, troubleshoot hardware, and manage break-fix processes.
- Maintain internal systems including Asset Management, Ticketing, and Rack Elevation data.
- Coordinate with remote vendors to resolve hardware failures and manage the RMA process.
- Diagnose server network connectivity issues and provide on-call support for stakeholders.
Required Skills
- 5+ years of experience in server operations or related hardware management.
- In-depth knowledge of Linux systems and hardware fault troubleshooting.
- Experience with large-scale remote OS installations using PXE boot.
- Proficiency with Shell or Python scripting.
- Experience using Ansible or similar automation tools.
- Solid understanding of networking: Subnetting, VLANs, DNS, and IPv6.
- Knowledge of out-of-band/lights-out communication methods like IPMI and NCSi.
- Ability to manage media destruction processes and online asset data verification.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
