Description

You will own the reliability and observability of large-scale platforms through automation and standardized engineering practices.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Partner with observability engineers to build end-to-end platform visibility using frameworks like OpenTelemetry.
• Streamline service management processes including continuous deployments, incident management, and blameless post-mortems.
• Develop operational playbooks and automation to eliminate toil and maintain high availability for data platform services.
• Orchestrate and automate web application deployments in collaboration with delivery teams.
• Design and execute system testing strategies covering smoke, performance, load, regression, and capacity tests.

Required Skills

• 8+ years of technical experience with a mix of software development and system administration.
• Proficiency in Java or Python with strong code handling capabilities.
• Experience with Oracle Databases or PostgreSQL, including query optimization and performance tuning.
• Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud provider management services (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Strong understanding of Microservices and messaging middleware such as Apache Kafka or IBM MQ.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
• Proficiency with build and deployment tools including Maven, Gradle, and Jenkins.
• Experience using Source Control Management systems like GitLab or GitHub.
• Hands-on experience with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, or Datadog.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with MLOps/AIOps adoption or SRE transformation within traditional IT environments.
• Background in toil automation or SRE implementation within large financial organizations.
