Description

You will design, implement, and manage scalable infrastructure for astronomical data processing, observatory automation, and space research applications.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines for astronomical software and data workflows.
• Manage and optimize cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP) for large-scale data storage and analysis.
• Automate deployment, scaling, and monitoring of telescope control systems and satellite operations.
• Implement containerization and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Develop infrastructure as code using Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or Cloud Engineering.
• Proficiency in Linux and Shell Scripting.
• Programming skills in Python or Golang.
• Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP cloud services.
• Expertise with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of big data processing frameworks like Hadoop.
• Familiarity with astronomical data formats (FITS, HDF5) and scientific computing tools.
• Experience integrating DevOps best practices into research projects.
