Key Skills: Site Reliability Engineer, Shell Scripting, Database, Linux

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Lead incident management for database and application reliability, including on-call coordination and post-incident RCA sharing with customers.
• Own monitoring and alerting strategy using tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, and CloudWatch; tune alerts to reduce noise and improve MTTR.
• Support database administration activities including performance tuning, indexing, query optimization, backup and recovery, and security controls.
• Drive disaster recovery and high availability planning, validating backup/restore and failover readiness across environments.
• Provide hands-on troubleshooting for slow queries, deadlocks, resource contention, and infrastructure issues on Linux systems.

Skills Required:

• 6 - 12 years of experience in SRE, cloud operations, or database/infrastructure reliability roles.
• Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices including SLA, SLI, SLO, and error budgets.
• AWS and Azure hands-on experience for reliability, monitoring, and operational support.
• Database administration and performance tuning (query optimization, indexing, troubleshooting) with backup and recovery ownership.
• Linux and shell scripting for operational automation, log analysis, and incident troubleshooting.

Good to Have:

• Experience with MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, or MS SQL Server; infrastructure as code with Terraform or CloudFormation; Kubernetes and containers.
• Observability stack experience (ELK stack) and monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, and CloudWatch.
• Scripting and automation using Python, Bash, PowerShell, and configuration management tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.

Education: Relevant degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
