Description

You will manage the reliability, uptime, security, and performance of large-scale distributed production systems and cloud-based services.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and troubleshoot highly-distributed, event-driven, cloud-based services.
• Manage a fleet of Linux and Windows VMs through hands-on administration.
• Advocate for Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Configuration as Code (CaC) practices.
• Monitor and report on service level objectives (SLOs) and establish key service level indicators (SLIs).
• Partner with security engineers to develop automation for responding to risks and vulnerabilities.

Required Skills

• 4+ years of experience in system administration, application development, or infrastructure development.
• Proficiency in reading, understanding, and writing code in JavaScript, Python, PHP, Go, Java, or Ruby.
• Mastery of infrastructure automation tools such as Terraform, Code Deploy, Puppet, Ansible, or Chef.
• Expertise in container orchestration including Kubernetes, OpenShift, AKS, EKS, Docker, Vagrant, or ZooKeeper.
• Strong Linux administration and container-native build/management skills.
• Experience with Agile software development methodologies and code review standards.
• Ability to ensure repeatability, traceability, and transparency in infrastructure automation.

Preferred Skills

• Participate in on-call rotations and contribute to pull requests to meet reliability goals.
• Build and maintain monitoring technologies to improve visibility into application performance and business metrics.
