Description

You will manage and support large-scale production environments across UNIX, AIX, and Redhat Linux systems. You will lead the resolution of service-impacting events and conduct Root Cause Analysis to prevent recurrence.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deploy automated solutions using Ansible to proactively remediate system issues.
• Manage user experience alerting and monitoring infrastructure using Splunk.
• Collaborate with DBA, Network, and Application Engineers to troubleshoot complex, cross-functional issues.
• Execute complex OS-level tasks and support build team initiatives.
• Participate in an on-call rotation, limited to a maximum of once per month.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of relevant work experience in Linux engineering.
• Hands-on proficiency with UNIX, AIX, and Redhat Linux operating systems.
• Strong scripting and automation skills using Ansible.
• Competency with Splunk or similar logging and monitoring applications.
• Strong foundation in network technologies, equivalent to CCNA/CCENT level.
• Ability to monitor and analyze performance metrics including CPU utilization, disk queuing, and I/O response times.
• Experience working within Agile and ITIL processes.

Preferred Skills

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• Experience with SQL or DB2 databases.
• Knowledge of DataPower appliances and WebSphere portal.
