Description

Build and maintain reliable, scalable systems while automating infrastructure and responding to production incidents.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement tools to measure SLOs and hold engineering teams accountable for reliability.
• Develop automation for application management, including deployments, configuration changes, and disaster recovery.
• Respond to and lead the recovery of business-critical incidents as part of an incident management program.
• Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation and act as an escalation point for applications and underlying systems.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in production environments.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language: Python, Go, or Java.
• Strong understanding of Linux/Unix systems and troubleshooting.
• Working knowledge of containerization technologies including Kubernetes and Docker.
• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and Ansible.
• Experience with Git and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins.
• Understanding of computer networking concepts including TCP/IP, UDP, Ethernet, Load Balancing, and Application Proxies.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with large-scale distributed systems and Cloud application design patterns.
• Working knowledge of RDBMS, NoSQL, and the ability to write/debug SQL.
• Understanding of security systems including Firewalls, Encryption, and X.509 PKI.
