Description

You will manage and optimize Snowflake environments while supporting multiple RDBMS platforms.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Administer the Snowflake platform, including monitoring, alerting, and managing user, data, and network security.
• Optimize database performance and manage data ingress and egress patterns between Snowflake and cloud service providers.
• Participate in database design discussions, logical/physical design sessions, and high availability and disaster recovery planning.
• Collaborate with application experts and infrastructure teams to resolve capacity, security, and performance issues.
• Join the on-call rotation to provide production support for MPP systems and large data warehouses.

Required Skills

• 3-4 years of hands-on Snowflake Administration experience, preferably on AWS.
• 5+ years of DBA experience with MPP systems (Netezza, Teradata, Greenplum, or Hadoop) and large data warehouses.
• 5+ years of experience in scripting and automation using Python, Unix shell, Perl, or C.
• 5+ years of experience with SQL and procedural languages (PL/SQL, T-SQL, NZ SQL) across RDBMS like Oracle, DB2, Postgres, or SQL Server.
• Proficiency in Snowflake platform architecture, functions, and features.
• Strong understanding of big data ecosystems and Hadoop.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or Information Technology.
