Description

Lead the architectural design and execution of the migration from Oracle to Snowflake.

Responsibilities

• Design the migration roadmap and technical strategy for moving data from on-premises Oracle to cloud storage and Snowflake.
• Build data pipelines to transfer data from Oracle environments to cloud storage and Snowflake.
• Implement logic to parse and cache data, enabling incremental loading rather than full batch loads.
• Consult on the selection of ETL tools or frameworks, such as Spark, to facilitate data extraction.
• Lead and upskill a team of three data engineers during the development phase.

Required Skills

• Expertise in Snowflake, including performance tuning, scaling, and performance management.
• Proven experience executing migrations specifically from Oracle to Snowflake.
• Hands-on experience with SnowSQL and Snowpipe builds.
• Experience building ETL pipelines from on-premises environments to cloud storage.
• Proficiency with cloud storage solutions such as AWS S3, Azure Blob, or GCP Google Storage.
• Experience implementing BI operations on Snowflake.
• Ability to migrate or transition BI tools to pull data from Snowflake instead of Oracle.
• At least 5 years of relevant expertise in data architecture and migration.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with AWS S3.
• Experience using PowerBI.
