Description
Lead end-to-end data architecture and solution design for Snowflake-based data platforms, including logical and physical data models, ingestion patterns, and storage layers. Design and optimize scalable data warehouses, data lakes, and lakehouse architectures, focusing on performance tuning, query optimization, cost management, and workload isolation.
Architect and implement AI-powered solutions using Snowflake Cortex, including LLM functions, search for semantic/vector RAG, and conversational analytics. Define and enforce data governance, security, and compliance frameworks, including RBAC, dynamic data masking, encryption, and secure data sharing. Design data pipelines integrating with on-prem, cloud, and SaaS sources, implementing real-time capabilities using Streams, Tasks, and Snowpark.
Responsibilities
- Design scalable high-performance data warehouses and lakehouse architectures on Snowflake.
- Implement AI solutions using Snowflake Cortex, LLM functions, and vector embeddings.
- Enforce data governance, security policies, and compliance frameworks (RBAC, masking).
- Build data pipelines with Snowpark (Python, Scala, Java) and orchestration tools.
- Provide technical leadership in migrations from legacy systems and mentor junior engineers.
Required Skills
- 7+ years in data architecture or data engineering, with deep Snowflake expertise.
- Proficiency in SQL, data modeling (Data Vault, Kimball), and ETL/ELT patterns.
- Experience with cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Strong knowledge of Snowflake features: Zero-copy cloning, Time Travel, Tasks/Streams.
- Ability to design secure, scalable architectures for analytics and ML workloads.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
- Excellent stakeholder management and technical leadership skills.
Preferred Skills
- Hands-on experience with Snowflake Cortex, RAG patterns, and AI agent development.
- SnowPro Core, Advanced, or Architect certifications.
- Experience with dbt, Airflow, Kafka, Spark, or modern data stack tools.
