Description

You will manage, optimize, and secure Snowflake data warehouse environments.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and alert on Snowflake platform performance and health metrics.
• Manage user, data, and network security protocols within the platform.
• Optimize database performance using Snowflake-specific techniques and query tuning.
• Analyze data ingress and egress patterns between Snowflake and cloud service providers.
• Participate in on-call rotations and provide production support.

Required Skills

• 3-4 years of hands-on Snowflake Administration experience, preferably on AWS or Azure.
• 5+ years of DBA experience managing MPP systems and large data warehouses.
• 5+ years of scripting and automation experience using Python, Shell, or Perl.
• Proficiency in SQL and procedural languages for RDBMS such as Oracle, DB2, Postgres, or SQL Server.
• Experience with MPP systems like Netezza, Teradata, Greenplum, or Hadoop.
• Understanding of big data ecosystems including Hadoop.
• Knowledge of Snowflake platform architecture, functions, and features.
• Bachelor's or Master's in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or Information Technology, or equivalent experience.

Preferred Skills

• Direct experience with AWS cloud environments.
