Description

You will lead the migration and optimization of data environments into Snowflake, re-engineering legacy systems and building scalable data models.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Analyze existing data sources, pipelines, and legacy structures to determine migration strategies.
• Re-engineer legacy reporting logic from WebFOCUS, Mainframe FOCUS, and T-SQL into optimized Snowflake SQL.
• Develop and automate ELT/ETL pipelines using Snowpipe, Streams, Tasks, Informatica, dbt, and Airflow.
• Build scalable data models and secure views to support downstream reporting in Power BI, Tableau, or Looker.
• Implement Snowflake best practices for security, access control, RBAC, masking policies, and cost monitoring.

Required Skills

• Expert-level SQL programming.
• 3+ years of experience with Snowflake platform architecture and data warehousing.
• Proven ability to build data models using views, materialized views, and secure shares.
• Experience with ELT/ETL tools including dbt, Airflow, Talend, Informatica, MS SSIS, or Fivetran.
• Knowledge of cloud storage integrations such as AWS S3 and Azure Blob.
• Experience migrating data from legacy systems including Mainframe, Db2, MS SQL Server, or Oracle.
• Understanding of dimensional modeling (Star/Snowflake Schema) and OLAP concepts.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or Looker for building BI semantic models.
• Exposure to DevOps and CI/CD practices using Git, dbt Cloud, or GitHub Actions.
• Experience with Oracle Data Warehouse.
