Define system architecture, integration patterns, and technical standards while driving design reviews and mentoring engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Define integration patterns, NFRs, security posture, and technical standards for the team.
• Maintain and evolve the technical decision log (ADRs) to ensure traceability of context and rationale.
• Drive design reviews to ensure architectural consistency across backend services, APIs, and data flows.
• Evaluate build-vs-buy decisions and integration strategies using frameworks for AKS, API gateways, and event-driven architecture.
• Establish security and audit patterns including authentication, authorization, API contracts, and data classification.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of software engineering experience with significant time in architecture or technical leadership roles.
• Deep expertise in Java platform architecture (Spring Boot, Spring Security, modern Java) and API design (REST, contract-first, versioning).
• Strong understanding of security and audit patterns: OAuth/OIDC, RBAC, API gateway design, and compliance-aware architecture.
• Experience with cloud-native platforms, preferably AKS/Kubernetes, and familiarity with infrastructure-as-code.
• Proven ability to define and enforce integration patterns across distributed teams without becoming a bottleneck.
• Excellent written communication with clear, concise, and decision-ready ADRs and design documents.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with event-driven architecture and messaging systems (Azure Event Hubs, Kafka, or similar).
• Familiarity with workflow orchestration platforms (Temporal or similar) and their architectural implications.
