Description

You will develop ROCgdb and ROCms open source GDB-based debuggers for heterogeneous computing environments.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Develop Linux tools and driver libraries for heterogeneous computing.
• Research and implement software algorithms to improve debugging capabilities.
• Collaborate with software and hardware engineering teams to provide technical suggestions.
• Advise on technical directions for GPU debugging support across various components.
• Communicate across teams to identify opportunities and facilitate feedback loops.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in software development.
• Proficiency in Python and C++.
• Deep knowledge of GPU compute architectures and CPU/GPU architecture.
• Experience modifying the GNU Debugger (GDB) rather than just using it.
• Working knowledge of Unix/Linux basics and commands.
• Background as an Open Source Contributor or Maintainer for Linux, Kernel, or Drivers.
• Bachelor, Masters, or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.

Preferred Skills

• Open-source upstream presence in Binutils, GDB, GCC, or LLVM.
• Experience with compute APIs such as HIP, CUDA, OpenCL, or OpenMP.
• Understanding of SIMD/SIMT architecture and embedded platform software development.
