Description

You will modernize monolithic Java/J2EE applications into cloud-native microservices on AWS.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Assess existing Java/J2EE applications to define target AWS cloud-native architectures.
• Containerize Java applications using Docker and deploy them on AWS ECS/EKS.
• Architect and implement serverless solutions utilizing AWS Lambda, API Gateway, SQS, and SNS.
• Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines for automated deployment.
• Ensure application security, reliability, and scalability by applying IAM and network security best practices.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of overall software development experience.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience migrating applications to the AWS platform.
• Strong Java programming skills and J2EE framework experience (Spring, Hibernate, JSF).
• Extensive experience with core AWS services: EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, Lambda, API Gateway, SQS, SNS, DynamoDB.
• Hands-on experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (AWS ECS, EKS).
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (CloudFormation or Terraform).
• Experience with messaging systems like Apache Kafka.
• Solid understanding of DevOps practices for CI/CD.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent practical experience).

Preferred Skills

• Experience with WebLogic migration strategies.
