Role summary
We are looking for a Manager to lead the design, development, and delivery of Java-based enterprise integration solutions for our payments platform. This is a hands-on leadership role: you will own solution architecture, guide a team of developers, drive delivery governance, and act as the technical bridge between business stakeholders and engineering.
Leadership & delivery responsibilities
• Lead and mentor a team of developers, providing technical guidance, design/code reviews, and career development.
• Own end-to-end solution architecture for Java microservices and middleware integration across payment/wires domains.
• Act as the primary technical liaison between business teams and developers; gather requirements, present solution options, and manage expectations.
• Lead cross-vendor and cross-team collaboration, aligning goals across multiple third-party and internal teams.

Must have (primary skills)
• 12+ years of software development experience, primarily in Java-based enterprise applications, with a track record of technical leadership.
• Deep expertise in Core Java (Java 8 / J2EE; preference to J2EE over Jakarta EE) and Java Microservices architecture (Spring Boot).
• Strong hands-on expertise in EJB, IBM MQ (Message Queues).
• Proven solution architecture ownership across enterprise integration and middleware designs.
• Application servers, Open Liberty preferred (WebSphere or similar acceptable).
• SQL / JDBC, Oracle preferred; Maven; GIT branching.
Good to have (secondary skills)
• Payment and Banking domain knowledge (payments/wires strongly preferred).
• Knowledge of Akka, BREF (Business Rules Expression Framework) for configurable logic.
• Parser/formatter development and extensions (XML / flat / EDI; XSD / XPath; mapping to the OPF data model).
