You will lead a data engineering team, owning technical direction, delivery, and team growth.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of 4-6 data engineers, including performance reviews and career planning.
• Oversee the full software development lifecycle, translating business requirements into technical specifications.
• Drive architectural decisions, ensuring adherence to coding standards, security protocols, and scalability.
• Implement and refine Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and DevOps practices to optimize velocity.
• Monitor production systems to ensure uptime, performance, and manage technical debt.

Required Skills

• 7+ years of professional experience in software development.
• 2+ years of direct people management experience with data or software engineers.
• Strong understanding of data engineering principles, SQL, data pipelines, and distributed platforms.
• Experience with Airflow, DBT, Kafka, and Kubernetes, preferably using Python.
• Strong experience with relational databases, columnar data stores, and Parquet.
• Familiarity with Java SE and object-oriented design fundamentals.
• Familiarity with CI/CD, unit testing, and automated deployment processes.
• Experience with distributed caching, such as Redis.
• Exceptional ability to articulate complex technical ideas to non-technical stakeholders.
