Description

You will develop software for internet and cloud data center traffic forwarding, implementing solutions in EOS using C and C++.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Implement solutions for small problems in EOS software using C and C++.
• Write and implement automated test programs for small features, and debug resulting failures.
• Collaborate on implementing, testing, and debugging solutions for larger routing protocol issues.
• Analyze customer network problems with Customer Support Engineers and provide fixes via patches or new releases.
• Mentor junior engineers on the software development environment and review peers' implementations.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of post-graduate work experience.
• Proficiency in C and/or C++.
• Familiarity with UNIX or Linux environments.
• Knowledge of IP routing protocols such as RIP, OSPF, or BGP.
• Ability to utilize, test, and debug packet forwarding engine and vendor software libraries.
• Applied understanding of software engineering principles.
• Strong problem-solving and software troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to design and implement solutions independently for small problems.

Preferred Skills

• Experience estimating, tracking, and reporting implementation and debugging tasks weekly to project leads.
