Description

Design, develop, and support machine control and automation software for robotics platforms and field equipment. You will build applications for data acquisition, process control, sensor integration, and M2M communication, while delivering cloud connectivity and user interfaces for research workflows.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement automation, robotics, and machine control software using C#, C/C++, or Python.
• Build multi-threaded applications and device communication layers (TCP/UDP, MQTT) for industrial systems.
• Develop cloud-connected solutions, APIs, and data transformation pipelines.
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and research teams to integrate hardware-software systems.
• Perform in-field testing, troubleshooting, and validation across the full software development lifecycle.

Required Skills

• 7+ years of experience developing automation, robotics, or machine control software (10+ years preferred).
• Strong proficiency in C#, C/C++, and/or Python.
• Experience with multi-threaded application development and industrial automation solutions.
• Knowledge of device communication protocols including TCP/UDP and MQTT.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex software and hardware integration issues.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with the Microsoft stack (Visual Studio, .NET, WPF, WinForms) or Linux-based automation.
• Familiarity with SQL/NoSQL databases and serial communication protocols (RS232/RS485).
• Knowledge of Agile, CI/CD, and modern development practices.
