Description

You will support and upgrade legacy laboratory applications while designing and building modern software replacements.

This role is hybrid.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate legacy systems by collaborating with vendors and laboratory subject matter experts to define technical requirements.
• Design, code, and unit test software solutions using object-oriented design principles and industry best practices.
• Own delivered interfaces, acting as the subject matter expert for support, enhancements, and change risk management.
• Participate in the full SDLC, including requirement reviews and supporting QA testers with technical specifications.
• Perform design and code reviews to ensure optimal performance and stability.

Required Skills

• 7+ years of experience in Microsoft-related software engineering.
• Proficiency in C# and the .NET framework.
• Experience with Visual Basic for legacy system support.
• Strong knowledge of MS SQL Server and SQL/T-SQL.
• Experience building and consuming RESTful Web Services.
• Practical application of object-oriented design and multi-tier architectures.
• Competency with XML and JSON data formats.
• Ability to write technical design documentation and interpret complex specifications.
• Strong communication skills for interacting with IT teams and non-IT laboratory personnel.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Java.
• Knowledge of medical systems, ASTM, HL7, or Angular.
