Description

You will build and maintain system software for hardware component management.

Responsibilities

• Design functional and design specifications for system software managing hardware components.
• Implement solutions for system software problems using C, C++, and Python.
• Write test plans and implement automated tests for features, debugging issues found by those tests.
• Collaborate on implementing, testing, and debugging solutions for large routing protocol problems.
• Analyze customer network issues with Support Engineers and provide fixes via software releases or patches.
• Mentor junior engineers on the software development environment and SONiC development.
• Review and contribute to specifications and implementations from team members and the SONiC community.
• Create, update weekly, and report on schedules for implementation and debugging tasks to the project lead.

Required Skills

• 2+ years of post graduate work experience.
• Knowledge of C, C++, and/or Python.
• Knowledge of UNIX or Linux.
• Experience with IP routing protocols, such as RIP, OSPF, or BGP.
• Experience with C, C++, or Python.

Preferred Skills

• Understanding of Layer 2 networking features like 802.1d bridging or STP.
• Experience with IS-IS or PIM routing protocols.
