Description

You will build and maintain system software for hardware component management.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Design functional specifications and implement solutions for system software managing hardware components using C, C++, and Python.
• Write test plans and implement automated tests to debug issues and validate features.
• Collaborate on implementing, testing, and debugging large routing protocol problems.
• Analyze customer network issues with Support Engineers and provide fixes via software releases or patches.
• Mentor junior engineers on the software development environment and SONiC development.

Required Skills

• 2+ years of post-graduate work experience.
• Strong proficiency in C, C++, and/or Python.
• Knowledge of UNIX or Linux environments.
• Experience with IP routing protocols such as RIP, OSPF, or BGP.
• Ability to review and contribute to specifications and implementations.
• Experience creating and reporting on schedules for implementation and debugging tasks.

Preferred Skills

• Understanding of Layer 2 networking features like 802.1d bridging or STP.
• Experience with IS-IS or PIM routing protocols.
