Description

Build and maintain large-scale distributed systems and data pipelines for information retrieval and machine learning.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Build multi-language text processing, scraping, and data pipelines.
• Develop services and applications using Java and Spring.
• Tune queries and analysis to ensure low latency and high relevance in search results.
• Design systems with a focus on maintainability, testability, monitorability, and automation.
• Manage infrastructure and tooling using Python and AWS cloud services.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of software engineering experience.
• Expert-level programming in Java.
• Strong programming experience in Python.
• Experience with big data search technologies such as Elasticsearch, Lucene, Solr, or CloudSearch.
• Experience with messaging, queueing, or stream processing systems.
• Hands-on experience with DynamoDB and S3.
• Practical knowledge of scaling, healing, orchestration, and testing.
• Experience working with cloud infrastructure and infrastructure as code.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with web-scale data and large-scale distributed systems on cloud infrastructure.
• Familiarity with Packer and Ansible for immutable machine images and automation.
