Description

Software Engineer owning the full application lifecycle, from design and coding to debugging and deployment.

Responsibilities

• Design, code, and debug software while performing risk and reliability analysis.
• Integrate new solutions with existing systems and reverse engineer legacy code.
• Collaborate with UX and engineering teams to prototype new features and tools.
• Participate in software modeling, simulation, and continuous improvement of development strategies.

Required Skills

• 4+ years of experience designing technical solutions using object-oriented design concepts.
• 3+ years of experience developing in Python, Perl, or JavaScript.
• Hands-on experience with Hadoop (Apache, Cloudera, or Hortonworks) or MapReduce platforms.
• Experience with Hive, Pig, Sqoop, or Flume.
• Experience with NoSQL databases including HBase, Cassandra, or MongoDB.
• Proficiency working with large data stores, schema design, optimization, and scalability.
• Experience in the SDLC, specifically regarding testing and deployment.
• Proficiency in Unix-like operating system environments.
• Working knowledge of software version control tools like Git.

Preferred Skills

• Track record of contributions to open source software projects.
