Description

You will own the full application lifecycle, from design and coding to debugging and deployment.

You will design, code, and debug software while performing risk and reliability analysis. You will integrate new solutions with existing systems and reverse engineer legacy code. You will collaborate with UX and engineering teams to prototype new features and tools. You will participate in software modeling, simulation, and continuous improvement of development strategies.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement technical solutions using object-oriented principles.
• Develop and maintain software using Python, Perl, or JavaScript.
• Manage large data stores, including schema design, optimization, and scalability.
• Execute testing and deployment activities within the SDLC.
• Utilize Unix-like environments and version control tools like Git.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering.
• 4+ years designing technical solutions with object-oriented concepts.
• 3+ years developing in Python, Perl, or JavaScript.
• Hands-on experience with Hadoop (Apache, Cloudera, or Hortonworks) or MapReduce platforms.
• Experience with Hive, Pig, Sqoop, or Flume.
• Experience with NoSQL databases including HBase, Cassandra, or MongoDB.
• Proficiency in Unix-like operating systems.

Preferred Skills

• Track record of contributions to open source software projects.
