Description

You will design, develop, and maintain Python code to control complex hardware systems like wind tunnel fan arrays.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain high-quality, reusable Python code for hardware control.
• Implement and optimize real-time control algorithms, including PWM for motors and actuators.
• Develop software to generate specific airflow conditions such as laminar, turbulent, or gradient flows.
• Create and manage control interfaces for secondary systems like robotic movers and spatial audio setups.
• Build data pipelines to capture, process, and analyze experimental sensor data.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of professional Python experience, focusing on hardware control or robotics.
• Proficiency in modern Python (3.8+) and object-oriented design.
• Solid understanding of control systems theory, digital signal processing, and data acquisition.
• Experience with scientific computing libraries: NumPy, SciPy, Pandas.
• Hands-on experience with hardware control interfaces and protocols (PWM, serial, Ethernet).
• Competency with Git version control.
• Experience using configuration file formats like YAML or JSON.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with motion control systems for robotics or automation.
• Familiarity with spatial audio technologies, particularly High-Order Ambisonics (HOA).
