Description

You will lead web accessibility remediation efforts to ensure public websites adhere to WCAG 2.1 guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Lead the remediation of accessibility issues across public-facing websites.
• Mentor mid-level engineers on web accessibility best practices and implementation.
• Update front-end codebases including JSP, HTML, CSS, and STRUTS to meet WCAG compliance.
• Identify and diagnose accessibility barriers to recommend technical solutions.
• Manage and track accessibility projects and tasks using JIRA within an Agile workflow.

Required Skills

• 7+ years of experience in software engineering.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in web accessibility remediation.
• Profound knowledge of WCAG 2.1 guidelines and accessibility best practices.
• Strong proficiency in Java/Spring, JSP, HTML, CSS, and STRUTS.
• Experience working with JBOSS servers.
• Experience with issue and project tracking tools, specifically JIRA.
• Practical knowledge of Agile methodologies.
• Familiarity with web accessibility testing tools.

Preferred Skills

• Web Accessibility certification such as CPACC or WAS.
• Experience with Angular and Bootstrap.
• Proven leadership experience mentoring junior and mid-level engineers.
