Description

You will build and maintain internal tools, automate workflows, and set technical best practices for the legal department.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain full-stack internal tools to streamline legal workflows and improve operational efficiency.
• Automate processes using Python, JavaScript, or Hack and build backend systems for data management.
• Establish technical best practices for code quality, security, and scalability across internal tooling.
• Collaborate with attorneys, Data Science, and Data Engineering to gather requirements and provide technical counsel.
• Maintain monitoring and alerting systems, including on-call support and incident resolution.

Required Skills

• 8+ years of software engineering experience with a proven ability to lead cross-functional efforts.
• Expert-level proficiency in Java or PHP (Hack), with strong skills in C++, C, or C#.
• Expert-level proficiency in Python.
• Experience developing command-line interfaces and shell scripts (e.g., Bash) in Unix/Linux environments.
• Proven ability to serve as a technical liaison, translating business requirements into technical specifications for non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong QA testing experience and ability to produce technical documentation and incident reports.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience supporting legal teams or similar high-compliance functions.
• Ability to educate non-technical partners on the capabilities and limitations of new technologies.
