Description

Lead the design, development, and maintenance of software applications for laboratory and business operations while managing a small engineering team.

This role is hybrid.

Responsibilities

  • Own the full software development lifecycle, including hands-on implementation, design, code reviews, and troubleshooting.
  • Manage a small team of engineers, guiding sprint planning, backlog refinement, estimation, and release planning.
  • Improve CI/CD pipelines and quality standards in partnership with QA through risk analysis and test data identification.
  • Ensure all solutions comply with regulatory requirements (HIPAA, CLIA, CAP, FDA) and support validation and audit readiness.
  • Promote engineering best practices for software quality, security, performance, and maintainability.

Required Skills

  • 6+ years of software development experience with expertise in Python, Java, and JavaScript.
  • 2+ years in a technical lead, senior engineer, or equivalent leadership role.
  • Strong experience with database design, management, and enterprise application integrations.
  • Proficiency in DevOps practices, CI/CD automation, and modern software engineering principles.
  • Demonstrated experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Deep understanding of APIs, microservices, and distributed or offshore team collaboration.
  • Experience working in regulated healthcare, diagnostics, laboratory, or life sciences environments.
  • Strong knowledge of Agile methodologies (Scrum and Kanban).

Preferred Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience resolving complex technical issues in production environments.
