Description

Design and maintain software systems that implement logical and mathematical solutions for network emulation.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Build and manage a software testbed for wireless network emulation using containers, custom programs, and graphical elements.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers to plan and develop electronic data processing systems.
• Analyze system capabilities to resolve issues regarding program intent, input data acquisition, and output requirements.
• Develop compilers, assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems while ensuring all software standards are met.
• Design and document applications, including operating instructions and technical documentation.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering.
• Strong background in software-defined networking or traditional networking using open-source versions.
• Professional experience using Mininet on a project in a workplace setting.
• Proficiency with networking protocols including TCP/IP and OSPF.
• Hands-on experience with software containers such as Docker or Podman.
• Programming proficiency in Python, Bash, and Java.
• Experience developing software visualizations, including dashboards and webpages.
• Prior experience working within a network testbed environment.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with custom program development for network emulation.
