Description

You will migrate legacy systems to Hadoop environments using ETL processes and distributed computing frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Migrate legacy systems to Hadoop using ETL concepts, MapReduce, Sqoop, Hive, HDFS, and PySpark.
• Map source and target data while setting up Hadoop architecture using MapReduce, HDFS, YARN, Sqoop, Pig, Hive, HBase, Oozie, and ZooKeeper.
• Design logical and physical data structures and generate DDL for implementation across SQL Server, AWS Cloud (Snowflake), and Oracle DB environments.
• Perform unit testing and manage legacy codebases involving COBOL, JCL, DB2, CA7, and CONTROL-M.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of software engineering experience.
• Proficiency with ETL concepts and MapReduce.
• Hands-on experience with Sqoop, Hive, HDFS, and PySpark.
• Working knowledge of legacy technologies including COBOL, JCL, and DB2.
• Experience with scheduling tools such as CA7 and CONTROL-M.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent graduate education.
• Ability to work on-site in Manchester, CT, or at various client sites across the U.S.
