Description

Architect, design, and develop Layer1 features using C, C++, and Python while leading technical initiatives across hardware and software teams.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Architect and manage the development of new Layer1 features, collaborating with product management and hardware engineers.
• Develop and maintain features using C, C++, and Python, including reviewing functional and design specifications.
• Build automated tests and test infrastructure to validate features and support hardware components like Phys and Transceivers.
• Analyze and mitigate problems in customer networks and system tests, providing fixes and technical leadership.
• Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with hardware teams to design optimal software control interfaces.

Required Skills

• Expert knowledge of C or C++ and Python.
• Strong understanding of UNIX or Linux environments.
• Applied understanding of software engineering principles and strong problem-solving skills.
• BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering with 3+ years of experience, or MS with 2+ years, or PhD with 1+ year.
• Ability to design solutions and implement features independently within small teams.
• Experience working with low-level hardware components.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of digital communication technologies, such as modulation and signal encoding schemes.
• Understanding of IP networking and/or distributed systems.
