Description

You will develop the SAP HANA Database Core Engine for cloud and on-premise systems, focusing on query optimization through AI.

Responsibilities

• Apply AI techniques to improve and optimize query plans.
• Provide summaries of optimizations and performance hotspots via comparative analyses.
• Develop and maintain systems for automatic regression management.
• Deliver high-quality code for the HANA Core SQL engine.
• Collaborate with engineering teams across North America, Europe, and Asia Pacific.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency in C/C++.
• Experience with SQL and Python.
• Proficiency with Git.
• Solid understanding of Machine Learning algorithms and principles.
• Deep knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and software design.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Basic level of English communication.
• Strong analytical and logical reasoning skills.

Preferred Skills

• Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science.
• Fluency in modern C++ (C++ 11/14/17/20).
• Knowledge of database systems, query processing, and optimization.
