Description

You will design and maintain distributed software systems and data-intensive APIs.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain cloud-based infrastructure on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Architect distributed systems using message queues and scalable compute and storage.
• Create and maintain containerized application deployments using Kubernetes.
• Develop data-intensive APIs using gRPC and protocol buffers.
• Write and execute unit tests following established methodologies.

Required Skills

• 7+ years of experience in software engineering.
• Proficiency in Go.
• Experience with Python, Java, C#, or TypeScript.
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform, Google Kubernetes Engine, or Kubernetes.
• Strong understanding of RDBMS/SQL, including query patterns and optimization.
• Experience with RESTful approaches and protocol buffers.
• Ability to work with scientific datasets or quantitative science applications.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with NoSQL databases.
• Exposure to scientific programming languages such as R or Julia.
