Description

You will design, build, and optimize scalable data pipelines and structures to support reliable data processing and delivery. You will own the migration and modernization of pipelines into standardized, reusable ingestion patterns and layered data architectures.

This role is hybrid.

Responsibilities

• Design and build data pipelines and data lakes in cloud environments.
• Contribute to the semantic and analytics layer, including dimensional modeling for reporting.
• Migrate legacy pipelines to standardized, reusable ingestion patterns and medallion architecture.
• Engage with business teams to understand problem spaces and coordinate technical changes end-to-end.
• Perform root cause analysis on data issues, diagnose problems across systems, and validate expected outcomes.

Required Skills

• 2-4 years of data engineering experience.
• Strong SQL skills, including performance tuning and optimization in large-scale analytical environments.
• Experience with root cause analysis on data and process issues, tracing problems across systems.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Informatics, Information Systems, or a quantitative field, plus 2+ years of related work experience.

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, Azure Data Lake Storage, Python, Scala, and Power BI (DAX is a plus).
• Understanding of dimensional modeling, star schema design, semantic layers, and medallion architecture (bronze/silver/gold).
• Experience using AI tools, agents, or automation to accelerate engineering workflows and apply software design principles (DRY, SRP, OOP).
