Description

You will own system-level integration testing and validation for distributed pub/sub architectures, ensuring subsystems meet documented requirements through rigorous gray-box analysis and automated regression.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute system-level integration test procedures derived from software requirements, documenting outcomes and validating against specifications.
• Identify, isolate, and reproduce integration defects by analyzing logs, traces, and diagnostic data to support root cause analysis.
• Build and maintain automated regression tests and small utilities using Python to enhance testing and diagnostic capabilities.
• Install, configure, and integrate subsystem software builds into laboratory equipment suites, executing tests with hardware, simulators, and networked systems.
• Collaborate with software and systems engineers in a configuration-controlled environment to troubleshoot distributed systems and support integration events.

Required Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical discipline.
• 4-7 years of experience in software integration, system test, or software engineering within a structured, configuration-controlled environment.
• Proficiency in Python for developing automated tests and support scripts.
• Ability to read and analyze production code in C/C++, Java, or similar languages for gray-box validation and troubleshooting.
• Experience troubleshooting distributed software systems in Linux/Unix environments.
• U.S. Citizenship with an active or recent DoD security clearance.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for documenting test procedures and coordinating with engineering teams.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with pub/sub message flows in distributed architectures.
• Familiarity with laboratory equipment integration and hardware-in-the-loop testing.
