Own software testing and validation for embedded systems, focusing on Python-based automation and hardware integration.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Python-based test scripts for embedded software validation.
• Perform software analyses including worst-case timing, memory margin, structural coverage, and data/control coupling.
• Operate standard test equipment (power supplies, DAQs, function generators) and higher voltage electronics (270VDC/115VAC).
• Modify and build test harnesses and fixtures, interpreting electrical schematics and datasheets.
• Execute GUI testing using tools like Squish and analyze CAN networks with PCAN Explorer.

Required Skills

• Proficiency in Embedded C and Python-based testing frameworks.
• Experience with LabVIEW and NI DAQ hardware.
• Familiarity with CAN, SPI, I2C, and RS232 protocols.
• Strong understanding of Git/GitHub for software configuration management.
• Experience with GUI testing tools (Squish or equivalent) and Python GUI frameworks (Tkinter/QT).
• Knowledge of DO-178 standards and embedded software testing methodologies.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and work with mechatronics systems.
• 10+ years of experience in software testing or embedded validation.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with F28335 Processor and Vim/Reg-Expressions for data processing.
