Description

Architect and lead the development of end-to-end multiplexing systems for analytical instruments, ensuring deterministic real-time execution and hardware integration.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

  • Define architecture for multi-LC to single MS orchestration, including real-time scheduling engines, stream state management, and valve routing control.
  • Architect and guide implementation in C++ for instrument control and drivers, and .NET (C#) for UI, orchestration, and services.
  • Design a hardware abstraction layer (HAL) for HPLC stacks, MS systems, and peripherals, establishing low-latency communication models.
  • Lead development of device drivers (USB, Ethernet, RS232, CAN) and define command/response models with robust error handling and synchronization.
  • Implement event-driven architectures for timing-critical workflows, ensuring data integrity, audit trails, and compliance with GxP/21 CFR Part 11.

Required Skills

  • 12+ years of experience in systems architecture and software development.
  • Strong proficiency in modern C++ (11/14/17) for real-time layers and instrument control.
  • Extensive experience with .NET and C#, including WPF or modern UI frameworks for orchestration and services.
  • Hands-on experience developing device drivers and instrument control software using TCP/IP, Serial (RS232/RS485), USB, and CAN protocols.
  • Proven track record designing distributed systems or real-time orchestration platforms with event-driven architecture and state machines.
  • Deep understanding of multi-threaded and concurrent systems, scheduling algorithms, and conflict resolution.
  • Experience in regulated environments, including GxP compliance, electronic records, and validation (V&V).
  • Strong systems thinking with the ability to integrate hardware and software components effectively.

Preferred Skills

  • Domain experience with analytical instruments (LC, MS, HPLC, GC) and lab automation systems.
  • Understanding of chromatography workflows and acquisition timing constraints.
